Draft Official Community Plan
We have been working on a new Official Community Plan (OCP) to set the long-term vision for managing the city’s growth. We are now in Phase 4 – “Confirming” – which is the final phase of a multi-year process.
Over the past three years, we reached out to community members, Host Nations and Indigenous Peoples, community partners, and others to hear what they love about Burnaby, what they want to change, and what they want for the future to help create Burnaby’s new OCP.
We wrapped up Phase 4 engagement which asked for your feedback to confirm that the draft OCP reflects the community’s values and priorities for the future. Thank you to everyone who shared their voice during Phase 4 and throughout the engagement process over the past three years. Your input is invaluable. Over the next few months, we will refine the draft OCP and take a new version to Council in September.

The parcel-based Land Use Map establishes land use designations for every property in the City. The designations outline the intended future uses for each property. They will be used as a guide if someone chooses to rezone their property.
Some properties have two land use designations. On these properties, future development may include uses from either designation, or a mix of both. For more information see Part B of the draft OCP.
