About this project
The City of Burnaby is planning to rebuild the playground equipment at five neighbourhood parks in 2024. The focus of the reconstruction of the playground and immediate surroundings is to provide new, engaging ways to play for play children while offering safety, accessibility, and inclusivity. The five playgrounds that are planned to be upgraded are at Forest Grove Park (west playground), Jim Lorimer Park, Lobley Park, Lochdale School Park, and Poplar Park.
Forest Grove Park
Forest Grove Park is located in northeast Burnaby, on Forest Grove Drive near the base of Burnaby Mountain. While there are two playground areas at the park, upgrades are scheduled for the west playground.
Jim Lorimer Park
Jim Lorimer Park is located in northwest Burnaby, near Gilmore SkyTrain Station on Gilmore Avenue.
Lobley Park
Lobley Park is located in southeast Burnaby, near Metrotown and Bonsor Recreation Centre near the intersection of Bennett Street and Marlborough Avenue.
Lochdale School Park
Lochdale School Park is located in northeast Burnaby, near the intersection of Cliff Avenue and Blaine Drive.
Poplar Park
Poplar Park is located in southeast Burnaby, near the intersection of 18th Avenue and Leeside Street.
